The Fédération Internationale des Archives du Film (FIAF), the Association des Cinémathèques Européennes (ACE), Cineteca di Bologna and L’Immagine Ritrovata are happy to announce that the 9th FIAF Film Restoration Summer School will take place during summer 2020 in Bologna.

VHH - Visual History of the Holocaust is an innovation project that focuses on the digital curation and preservation of film records relating to the discovery of Nazi concentration camps and other atrocity sites. VHH combines state-of-the-art concepts and practices from information science, museum pedagogy and digital storytelling to design a new approach for the engagement with a significant aspect of European audio-visual heritage. The project started earlier this year and will run until end of 2022.
The Association of European Cinematheques (ACE) will hold its annual workshop at the Cinema Ritrovato Festival in Bologna on 25 June 2019.
The EU-funded 'The Film Corner. Online and Offline Activities for Film Literacy' project which was launched by the Fondazione Cineteca Italiana in 2016 to create an online interactive platform especially devised for young people and their teachers recently got renewed and will now focus on the enhancement of the FILM CORNER platform with new topics and an efficient tool to help teachers use film as a cross-cutting subject that can foster connections throughout the whole school curriculum.
Film archives are currently in a phase of transition. New techniques for restoring works, and new ways of distributing, promoting, cataloging, and managing these objects has important impact for the work of archivists in every field. This transformation is so important that it may eventually affect the very mission of film archives and the form they take.
