Open to all interested professionals, the 2nd edition of this international conference is hosted by Teatro della Pergola in Florence on 15-16 December 2009. Titled 'Empowering users: an active role for user communities', the conference will start with keynote lectures that investigate user needs and expectations, analysing how to better involve users and the cultural heritage community in creating and sharing digital resources. During the plenary sessions on the second day, national and international scenarios will be presented. They are followed by two thematic sessions with scientific speeches, that will ascertain the advancement of the research on the relationship user-institution towards the development of cooperative Web 2.0 tools and on sustainable digital preservation policies.
