Journalists lunch with Ministers Carl Enckell (1876-1959), Urho Kekkonen (1900-1986), Eero Vuori (1900-1966), and Kaarlo Hillilä (1902-1965). Prime Minister J. K. Paasikivi (1870-1956), Minister Johan Helo (1889-1966), author Hella Wuolijoki (1886-1954), ministers Sakari Tuomioja (1911-1964) and Enckell, Dr. Ruutu, Dr. Hiitonen, Mauri Ryömä, and Kai Sundström at a commemoration of Lenin at the Soviet Embassy. Reception in honour of a Soviet cultural delegation. The guests include Mr Uuno Takki (1901-1968), Minister of Education, Mr Eino Kalima (1882-1972), theatre director, Ms Elsa Soini (1893-1952), author and scriptwriter, as well as other Finnish authors and artists. Reception organised by Finnish authors in honour of the Swedish author Wilhelm Moberg (1898-1973). Finlandia art exhibition at the Ateneum Art Museum for the benefit of the Kansanapu fund raising effort. Among the guests is Minister of Education Uuno Takki. First fancy dress ball after the war at the Helsinki Exhibition Centre. Handball match in Helsinki between a team from Sweden and a team from Helsinki; the Swedes win 31–9.
