SCULPTEUR EXPRESS
-
Other title(s): ESCULTURAS MÁGICAS
-
Genre: Short film
-
Year: 1907
-
Description: Set inside a room made to look like an art studio, a sculptor works the clay prepared by his assistant onto a frame hanging on the wall, and deftly moulds a series of faces depicting a variety of characters. This film represents part of Chomón's evolution from 'cinema of attractions' (which focuses on astounding the audience through visual trickery) to plot-driven cinema, although this piece is not without its tricks. Chomón also used a variety of shots through which the effects could be observed, moving away from the exclusive use of the long shot.
