  • Leírás: The story of the INA-Casa project begins with the architect's study, which from the design of luxurious villas moves on to houses for the people, giving an account of a project functional to the industriousness of the workers, and then crosses the whole of Italy to enthusiastically illuminate the social housing program. It points out the need for architecture to arise from the same habits of modern man, rather than superimpose itself on his needs of life. From Savona to Mestre, from Genoa to Naples, from Bologna to Prato, from Alberobello to Rome, from Florence to Circeo, the houses are not "machines for living", as the detractors of modern architecture claim, but rather reinterpret tradition in a contemporary spirit, revealing the vital sense of their own era. The central motif is that of daily work, the link between the individual/worker and the great social initiative; the building plan also corresponds to a rewriting of the urban space that designs the rise of schools, markets and other services next to the houses, with the usual metaphor of childhood as the future of humanity today.
