EFG Symposium “Film Archives and Their Users in the ‘Second Century’ – Risks and Benefits of the Transition to Digital”
This 1,5-day conference which will be taking place in Bologna during the Il Cinema Ritrovato film festival on 30 June and 1 July intends to look at the consequences of the transition from analogue to digital by looking at the self-perception of the archives, their relationship with their users as well as the implications of this paradigm shift for their daily work. The symposium will be preceded by a short film programme on 29 July curated by EFG and presenting early works of famous European film directors. The symposium is open and will feature speakers from the archival domain, the academic sector as well as from the filmmaker scene.
